About Us The idea of creating a durable graphic record of treasured family pictures led me into dye-sublimation printing on ceramic tiles. I now have my Grandfather and Grandmother, Bartholomew Murphy and Jenny Smith Murphy, together again on framed ceramic tiles.
Dye-Sublimation is a process in which the dye, under heat and pressure, goes from a solid to a gas without passing through a liquid state (dry ice is a common product that under goes sublimation). Any image can be pressed onto a tile. The dye actually penetrates the polymer coating of tile and becomes a part of the tile.
Items that I print on:
Glossy Ceramic tiles have a brilliant reflective finish, however they show scratch marks if they come into contact with an abrasive.
Satin tiles have a flatter finish than the glossy tiles and will endure some abrasive wear.
Scratch resistant tiles are suitable for surfaces such as countertops and backsplashes.
Marble tiles have a warm finish that are excellent for classical images.
Glass Suncatchers are printed on the back of the glass and are suitable for hanging in a window or in a stand on a table top.
Crystal Pendants Oval and rectangular.
Shell Pendants Natural Mother of Pearl.
Ceramic Mugs. A favorite for family pictures and family pets. Text can be included.
